Oooh what a twist on a childhood favorite! Pumpkin Spice Treats suspend crispy rice cereal in a matrix of sticky, sweet, and melty marshmallows (just as you’d expect), but this time with golden, warmly-spiced pumpkin flavor infused into each bite, making THE perfect treat for fall! You can even add a little orange food dye to really get into that pumpkin feeling! We wouldn’t mind enjoying these Pumpkin Spice Treats all year round though… in fact, we would welcome it!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 12 ounces marshmallows
  • 1/8 cup pumpkin purée, optional
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • orange food coloring, optional, to taste
  • 7 cups crispy rice cereal

Directions

Step 1 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

Step 2 –In a large pan over medium-low heat, melt the butter.

Step 3 –Add the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until melted.

Step 4 –Add the pumpkin, the pumpkin pie spice, and the cinnamon to the melted marshmallow and stir to combine.

Step 5 –Add the food coloring, just one drop at a time, and stir after each addition to make sure the color is what you’re looking for.

Step 6 –Add the cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir to incorporate.

Step 7 –Pour the marshmallow mixture into the prepared pan.

Step 8 –Using wax paper, flatten out the treats.

Step 9 –Let the treats set for 10 minutes.

Step 10 –Slice and serve.
