Each square is beaming with twirls of cinnamon and brown sugar to ensure you get that sweet and rich flare in every bite. They’re quite the treat that will have you tempted to eat one after another in no time. But don’t worry, there’s no harm in indulging every now and then. When you do, make sure your treat of choice is these Sinful Cinnamon Sugar Bars!


For the bars:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

For the cinnamon-sugar topping:

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon


Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 3 –In a large bowl, add the butter and the brown sugar and use an electric hand mixer to cream until it is light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

Step 4 –Add the eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time, and beat after each addition.

Step 5 –Add the vanilla to the butter mixture and beat until it is smooth.

Step 6 –In a medium bowl, add the baking powder, the salt, 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon, the nutmeg, and the flour and whisk to combine.

Step 7 –Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and beat until it is just combined.

Step 8 –Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and use a spatula to evenly spread it out.
