Ingredients

For the tacos:

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 (16-ounce) jar salsa
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • tortillas, to taste

Optional toppings:

  • tomatoes, to taste, diced
  • cheese, to taste, shredded
  • lettuce, to taste, shredded
  • avocado, to taste, diced

Directions

Step 1 –Spray the inner container of a slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2 –Add the chicken breasts, the salsa, the cream cheese, and the taco seasoning to the slow cooker and cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, on low heat for 4-5 hours or on high heat for 3 hours.

Step 3 –Use two forks to shred the chicken and stir to combine.

Step 4 –Cook the chicken mixture until the meat has absorbed the sauce, about 15 minutes.

Step 5 –Serve the chicken mixture over the tortillas and top with the tomatoes, the cheese, the lettuce, and the avocado.
