Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
For the sauce:
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon ginger, peeled and grated
- red pepper flakes, dried, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
- juice of 1 lime
For the garnish:
- sesame seeds, optional, to taste
- green onions, optional, to taste, chopped
Directions
Step 1 –Add the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 2 –Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
Step 3 –Add the chicken to the skillet.
Step 4 –Allow the chicken to cook until fully cooked through (reading 165 degrees F when checked with a meat thermometer), about 3 minutes on each side.
Step 5 –Transfer the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
Step 6 –Whisk together the brown sugar, the soy sauce, the hoisin sauce, the sweet chili sauce, the ginger, the red pepper flakes, garlic, and the lime juice in the hot skillet.
Step 7 –Allow the sauce to cook over medium heat until it thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 8 –When the sauce has thickened, place the chicken back into the skillet and coat thoroughly with the sauce.
Step 9 –Garnish the chicken with the sesame seeds and green onions, and serve.
