There’s nothing like going home, sweet, home and being welcomed by some Sweet Honey Chicken! You don’t need to stay out to enjoy something this delicious. Kick back and relax as you taste the most perfect honey sauce to ever be smothered all over chunks of chicken. It’s a delicious dish all on its own, but it could be really tasty lying over a bed of rice to ensure you get every last drop of the goodness.   • 2 large chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil, plus more, to taste
  • scallions, to taste, chopped, for garnish


Step 1 –In a bowl, add the chicken pieces and the cornstarch and toss to coated.

Step 2 –In another bowl, add the honey, the chicken broth, the soy sauce, the apple the cider vinegar, and the garlic powder and whisk together.

Step 3 –Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 4 –Add the chicken pieces, in batches if needed, to the hot oil and cook until browned on two sides, about 3-5 minutes per side. Add more of the extra oil, as needed.

Step 5 –Transfer the seared chicken pieces to a plate.

Step 6 –Transfer the skillet from the heat.

Step 7 –Pour the sauce in the same skillet and use a wooden spoon to loosen the browned bits from the bottom.

Step 8 –Add the chicken back to the skillet and return it to the stove-top over medium heat.

Step 9 –Cook the honey chicken until the sauce has thickened and the meat has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 10 –Serve the honey chicken garnished with the scallions.
