Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef or ground chuck, 80% lean and 20% fat
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 slices cheese, optional, of your preference
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • lettuce, optional, to taste, for topping
  • tomato, optional, sliced, to taste, for topping
  • onion, optional, sliced, to taste, for topping
  • pickles, optional, to taste, for topping
  • ketchup, optional, to taste, for topping
  • mustard, optional, to taste, for topping
  • mayo, optional, to taste, for topping

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the grill to 375 degrees F or medium-high.

Step 2 –In a large bowl, add the beef, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, garlic powder, and pepper.

Step 3 –Use your hands to mix the ingredients until they are just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Step 4 –Divide the meat mixture into fourths and use your hands to press each fourth of the mixture into the shape of a hamburger patty that is about 3/4 inch thick.

Step 5 –Make an indention in the middle of each patty to prevent bulging in the center of the hamburger as it cooks.

Step 6 –Place the burgers on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on the first side.

Step 7 –Flip the burgers over and cook until the burgers have reached the desired level of doneness, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 8 –If adding cheese, lay a slice of cheese on each burger patty about 1 minute before taking the burgers off the grill so the cheese has a chance to melt.

Step 9 –Serve the burgers on hamburger buns with your preferred hamburger toppings.
