Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest, plus 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons capers, drained
- 3 tablespoons basil, minced, divided
- 4 (6-ounce) tilapia fillets
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the broiler.
Step 2 –In a small bowl, whisk the lemon zest, the lemon juice, the oil, and the garlic until blended.
Step 3 –Stir in the capers and 2 tablespoons of the basil.
Step 4 –Reserve 2 tablespoons of the lemon mixture.
Step 5 –Brush the remaining lemon mixture onto both sides of the fillets.
Step 6 –Sprinkle the filets with the salt and the pepper.
Step 7 –Broil the tilapia 4 inches from the heat source until the fish just begins to flake easily with a fork and reaches 145 degrees F, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
Step 8 –Drizzle the fish with the reserved lemon mixture and sprinkle with the remaining basil.
Step 9 –Serve!
