There’s no risky business with Tom Cruise’s Favorite Cobb Salad! It’s a guaranteed smash hit, much like so many of the actor’s movies! Row upon row of classic toppings, from the crumbly, sharp blue cheese, hearty eggs, and juicy tomatoes. Instead of chicken though, Tom Cruise’s Favorite Cobb Salad calls on leaner, but no less savory, turkey; got to keep up your figure when you’re in so many action movies, after all! This salad is going on the Walk of Fame in your kitchen!
Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon
- 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- coarse salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large head romaine lettuce, shredded
- 8 ounces turkey breast, roasted and cut into 3/4-inch diced pieces
- 1 avocado, peeled and pitted, thinly sliced
- 3 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
- 2 eggs, hard-boiled and cut into wedges
- 2 plum tomatoes, cut into 1/2-inch diced pieces
Directions
Step 1 –In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 2 –Transfer the bacon to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain.
Step 3 –Let the bacon cool and cut it into 1/2-inch pieces.
Step 4 –In a large bowl, whisk the red wine vinegar, the Dijon mustard, the salt, and the pepper together.
Step 5 –While continuing to whisk the vinegar mixture, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the dressing thickens.
Step 6 –Add the lettuce to the dressing and toss to coat.
Step 7 –Place the dressed lettuce on a large serving platter.
Step 8 –Arrange the turkey, the avocado, the blue cheese, the eggs, the tomatoes, and the bacon on the lettuce as desired, preferably in rows.
Step 9 –Season the salad with the salt and the pepper.
Step 10 –Serve immediately.
