Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small clove garlic, minced
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
- 1/4 cup bottled marinara sauce
- 1/2 (10.75 ounces) can water
- 1 teaspoon fresh oregano, or to taste, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, plus more to taste, chopped
- 6 Italian-style seasoned croutons, plus more to taste
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
Directions
Step 1 –Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Step 2 –Saute the garlic in the hot oil until tender and fragrant, 2-3 minutes. Stir.
Step 3 –Stir the condensed tomato soup and marinara sauce into the garlic.
Step 4 –Slowly add in the water, using the empty can of condensed tomato soup.
Step 5 –Mix the oregano and black pepper into the soup.
Step 6 –Bring the soup to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
Step 7 –Cook until the flavors blend, about 15 minutes.
Step 8 –Stir the basil into the soup.
Step 9 –Ladle the soup into bowls and top with the croutons and parmesan cheese.
Step 10 –Serve.
