Ingredients

For the steaks:

  • 2/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs, divided
  • 1/3 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons low-sodium Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons steak sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound extra-lean ground turkey
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil

For the sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups reduced-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon steak sauce
  • 1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained

Directions

Step 1 –In a large bowl, combine 1/3 cup of the breadcrumbs, the onion, 2 teaspoons of the Worcestershire sauce, 2 teaspoons of the steak sauce, the minced garlic, the basil, the oregano, the garlic powder, and the pepper.

Step 2 –Add the turkey to the seasoning mixture and mix gently, but thoroughly.

Step 3 –Shape the turkey mixture into four 1/2-inch oval patties.

Step 4 –Place the remaining breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl.

Step 5 –Press the patties into the crumbs.

Step 6 –In a large nonstick skillet, heat 1 1/2 teaspoons of the oil over medium heat.

Step 7 –Add the patties and cook until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part reads 165 degrees F, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

Step 8 –Transfer the patties from the pan.

Step 9 –In the same pan, heat the remaining oil over medium heat.

Step 10 –Stir in the flour until smooth and gradually whisk in the broth, the remaining Worcestershire sauce, and the remaining steak sauce.

Step 11 –Bring the sauce to a boil, cooking and stirring constantly until thickened, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 12 –Stir in the mushrooms.

Step 13 –Return the patties to the pan.

Step 14 –Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, until the patties are heated through, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 15 –Serve.
