  • 3 medium ripe bananas
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, plus more, to taste
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped, plus more, to taste

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Using the extra butter, grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

Step 3 –In a large bowl, mash the bananas.

Step 4 –Add the eggs, the brown sugar, and the remaining 1/2 cup of the melted butter to the mashed bananas and whisk well to combine.

Step 5 –In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the flour, the baking soda, the cinnamon, and the salt.

Step 6 –Gently fold the flour mixture into the banana mixture.

Step 7 –When only a few streaks of the flour mixture remain, add 1 cup of the chocolate chips and 1 cup of the walnuts, folding them into the batter.

Step 8 –Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and then top it with the extra chocolate chips and the extra walnuts.

Step 9 –Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour 5 minutes-1 hour 15 minutes. Check the loaf after 45 minutes and if it is browning too quickly, cover the top loosely with foil.
