When life feels a little topsy-turvy, you need a meal that helps you recenter. Upside-Down Pizza Casserole will meet you in the middle with its beefy, savory red sauce and stacks and stacks of salty mozzarella cheese. The flakey, golden biscuits alone will make everything feel right in the world. Just like two negatives equal a positive, two things overturned have to equal something delicious (or something like that), and this hearty Upside-Down Pizza Casserole is sure to be just that and then some!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 (15-ounce) can of Italian-style tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 (10-ounce) package of refrigerated biscuits

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the beef while crumbling until no longer pink, stirring frequently, about 7-10 minutes.

Step 3 –Drain the excess grease from the skillet.

Step 4 –Stir the tomato sauce into the cooked ground beef and heat through, for about 5-7 minutes.

Step 5 –Transfer the meat sauce mixture to a 2-quart rectangular baking dish.

Step 6 –Sprinkle the meat sauce mixture with the cheese.

Step 7 –Flatten each of the biscuits with your hands.

Step 8 –Arrange the flattened biscuits on top of the cheese.

Step 9 –Bake until the biscuits are golden, about 15 minutes.
