Decadent Cream Cheese Brownies

They aren’t called Decadent Cream Cheese Brownies for nothing! There’s nothing more luxurious than a fudgy, chocolatey brownie swirled with rich, tangy, sweet, cream cheese! It’s basically like the brownies have frosted themselves and are dancing with the frosting in hypnotic patterns of dessert delight! Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup plus 1/3 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 5 eggs, divided
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon plus 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a metal 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 3 –In a medium saucepan, melt the butter until bubbling but not browned.

Step 4 –Turn off the heat.

Step 5 –Add the chocolate chips to the melted butter and stir to coat.

Step 6 –Let the chocolate mixture sit for 5 minutes.

Step 7 –Stir the chocolate mixture again until it is completely melted and combined with the butter.

Step 8 –Transfer the chocolate mixture to a large mixing bowl.

Step 9 –Add the brown sugar, 3/4 cup of the granulated sugar, 4 of the eggs, and 2 teaspoons of the vanilla and whisk until well-combined.

Step 10 –Add 1/2 teaspoon of the salt, the cocoa powder, and the flour and stir together until well-combined.

Step 11 –Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.

Step 12 –With a mixer, beat together the cream cheese, the remaining sugar, the remaining vanilla, the remaining salt, and the remaining egg until combined, about 3 minutes.

Step 13 –Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the top of the brownie batter.

Step 14 –Using a knife, draw swirls across the surface of the cream cheese by running the tip of the knife about 1/2-inch-deep into the brownie batter as you move it around.

Step 15 –Bake until set, about 30-35 minutes.

Step 16 –Allow the brownies to cool completely.

Step 17 –Slice and serve.
