Famous French Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Colby-Jack cheese, shredded
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 6 green onions, chopped
  • 1 (1-pound) loaf French bread, halved lengthwise

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the grill to medium heat.

Step 2 –In a small bowl, combine the shredded cheese, the mayonnaise, and the green onions.

Step 3 –Spread the cheese mixture over the cut-sides of the bread halves, then reassemble the loaf.

Step 4 –Wrap the loaf in two layers of heavy-duty foil and seal it tightly at the seams.

Step 5 –Transfer the wrapped loaf to the grill and close the grill.

Step 6 –Grill the loaf over indirect heat, turning once, until the cheese has melted, about 25-30 minutes.

Step 7 –Transfer the loaf from the grill and let it stand for 5 minutes.

Step 8 –Unwrap the loaf and slice.

Step 9 –Serve.
