Football Wings

Football Wings are the touchdown of game day snacks! These wings are basically braised in spicy, buttery Buffalo sauce with some extra fixings to add notes of sweetness and smokiness, ensuring the wings are juicy and flavorful. Then they’re coated with even more Buffalo sauce and broiled so they’re sticky and caramelized! These hot Football Wings are perfect for dipping in cool ranch and they leave a hand free for high-fives!

Ingredients

For the wings:

  • 1 1/2 cups Buffalo sauce, store-bought or homemade, plus more, to taste
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 pounds chicken wings, fresh or frozen

Optional, for serving:

  • carrot sticks, to taste
  • celery sticks, to taste
  • ranch dressing or dip, to taste
  • chives, to taste, for garnish

Step 2 –In a 6-quart slow cooker, add the wings and the Buffalo sauce mixture, stirring to ensure the wings are covered.

Step 4 –Transfer the wings to a foil-lined pan. Discard the cooking liquid.

Step 5 –Preheat the broiler on high.

Step 6 –Brush the wings with the extra Buffalo sauce.

Step 7 –Broil the wings until lightly browned and crisp, about 5 minutes per side.

Step 8 –Serve the wings with the carrots, the celery, and the ranch dressing, then garnish with the chives.
