Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 3 medium ripe pears, sliced
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter

For the cinnamon topping:

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup granola, no raisins
  • vanilla ice cream, optional, to taste, for serving

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the grill to medium.

Step 2 –Toss the pears and the cranberries with the sugar, the flour, and 1/4 teaspoon of the cinnamon in a bowl.

Step 3 –Place 1 tablespoon of the butter in a 9-inch cast-iron skillet.

Step 4 –Place the skillet on the grill rack and heat until the butter is melted.

Step 5 –Stir the fruit into the melted butter.

Step 6 –Cover and grill, stirring occasionally, until the pears are tender, about 15-20 minutes.

Step 7 –Mix the remaining butter and the remaining cinnamon together in a small bowl.

Step 8 –Toss the cinnamon mixture with the granola.

Step 9 –Sprinkle the granola mixture over the pear mixture.

Step 10 –Grill the crumble, covered, until crisp, about 5 minutes.

Step 11 –Serve warm with the ice cream.
