Million Dollar Bacon takes one of the most beloved foods in the world and finds a way to make it even more addictive; black pepper and cayenne add a touch of spice to the salty fattiness of bacon. Candied in brown sugar and maple syrup, Million Dollar Bacon is smoky-sweet and magical to taste. It will certainly feel like magic when you see how quickly you make them disappear!

Ingredients

  • 10 pieces bacon, thick-cut
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Directions

Step 1 –Position the oven rack on the center rack. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Combine the black pepper, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Set aside.

Step 3 –Place the foil onto a 13×9 inch baking sheet.

Step 4 –Add the bacon in a single layer.

Step 5 –Cover both sides of the bacon pieces with the brown sugar mixture.

Step 6 –Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, then flip the bacon and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes.

Step 7 –Remove the bacon from the oven and let cool before serving.

Step 8 –Slather the bacon in maple syrup.
