Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1 –In a large bowl, cream the butter, the sugar, and the confectioners’ sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Step 2 –In a medium bowl, combine the flour, the cornstarch, and the salt.

Step 3 –Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix well, until a dough forms.

Step 4 –Roll the dough into a 15x2x1-inch rectangle and chill it for at least 1 hour or up to overnight.

Step 5 –Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 6 –Cut the chilled dough into 1/4-inch slices and place them 2-inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

Step 7 –Prick the cookies with a fork and bake them until they are set, about 10-12 minutes.

Step 8 –Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool.
