With more time spent at home, it seems like everyone is making homemade bread! No Knead Bread produces absolutely delicious, crusty bread without tiring handwork. It only takes 10 minutes to prep and the rest of the time is spent resting or in the oven, so you can kick back while this bread basically makes itself! No Knead Bread can be used as a sandwich foundation or alongside soups, but the flavor is best appreciated with a pat of butter.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, preferably unbleached, scooped and leveled, plus more for flouring a work surface
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast, instant yeast, or rapid rise yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water, about 110 degrees

Directions

Step 1 –Using a large bowl, add together the flour, salt, and yeast using a whisk.

Step 2 –Pour in the warm water and mix with a wooden spoon until a shaggy ball forms.

Step 3 –Cover the bowl with some plastic wrap and then allow it to rise for 12-18 hours at room temperature

Step 4 –Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

Step 5 –When the oven is ready, put a cast iron pan or Dutch oven, covered, into the preheated oven, and heat the pot for 30 minutes.

Step 6 –At the same time, turn the dough out on a floured surface, and shape the dough into a ball.

Step 7 –Cover the shaped dough with an extra-large bowl and let it rest while the pot is heating, about 30 minutes.

Step 8 –Move the hot pot out from the oven and carefully drop the dough into the hot pot.
