Strawberry Patch Tea

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water, cold, divided
  • 5 family-size tea bags
  • 4 cups ripe strawberries, diced, plus more, to taste, sliced, for garnish
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • ice, to taste, for serving
  • mint, to taste, for garnish
  • kiwi, optional, to taste, sliced, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 –In a small pot, add 2 cups of the water and bring it to a boil.

Step 2 –Transfer the water from heat, add the tea bags, and let them steep, about 10 minutes.

Step 3 –Discard the tea bags.

Step 4 –Place 4 cups of the strawberries into the bowl of a food processor and purée the strawberries.

Step 5 –Strain the puréed strawberries through a mesh strainer. Reserve the strawberry juice and discard the strawberry pulp.

Step 6 –In a large pitcher, add the tea, the strawberry juice, and the granulated sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves.

Step 7 –Add the remaining water to the tea mixture and stir to combine.

Step 8 –Cover the pitcher and refrigerate the tea until it is ice-cold, about 1 hour.

Step 9 –Pour the strawberry tea over the ice.

Step 10 –Garnish the tea with the extra strawberry slices, the mint, and the kiwi slices.

Step 11 –Serve immediately.
