Winter Berry Ridge Brownies

The tartness of the cranberries and the brightness of the citrus all mixed in the cakey, moist blondies will help you to remember all the good things that come around during the chilly months. Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1 1/2 cups white baking chips
  • 1 cup dried cranberries

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with foil, letting the ends extend up the sides. Grease the foil.

Step 3 –In a bowl, add the flour and the brown sugar and mix to combine.

Step 4 –Cut the butter into the flour mixture until it is crumbly.

Step 5 –Press the crust mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.

Step 6 –Bake the crust until it is light golden-brown, about 10-12 minutes.

Step 7 –Transfer the baking pan to a wire rack and let the crust cool.

Step 8 –In a bowl, add the egg, the condensed milk, the orange zest, and the orange extract and whisk until it is blended.

Step 9 –Stir the baking chips and the cranberries into the filling mixture.

Step 10 –Spread the filling evenly over the crust.

Step 11 –Bake the brownies until the top is golden-brown, about 20-25 minutes.

Step 12 –Transfer the baking dish to a wire rack and let the brownies cool, about 15 minutes.

Step 13 –Lifting with the foil, transfer the brownies from the pan. Gently peel off the foil and cut them into bars.

Step 14 –Serve.
