Better-Than-Delivery Bake

Al dente penne pasta is soaked with a ground beef-sausage-tomato sauce, rolling with peppy pepperoni, and seasoned to Italian delight, while including all the melted mozzarella cheese to make you squeal with pure joy! This blissful combo, we call the Better-Than-Delivery Bake, will allow you to stay at home-sweet-home while indulging in all your favorite Italian loves. Ingredients

  • 4 cups penne pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound pork sausage
  • 4 ounces pepperoni
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms, optional
  • 1 (2.25-ounce) can sliced olives
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara pasta sauce, can substitute homemade
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 3 –In a large pot of salted, boiling water, cook the penne pasta to al dente, according to the package directions. Drain the pasta.

Step 4 –In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and the sausage and cook, while crumbling, until the meat mixture is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease.

Step 5 –In a large bowl, add the meat mixture, the pepperoni, the bell pepper, the onion, the parmesan cheese, the oregano, the garlic, the mushrooms, and the olives and stir to combine.

Step 6 –Add the cooked penne pasta and the pasta sauce to the meat mixture and toss to combine.

Step 7 –Evenly pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese.

Step 8 –Bake the pasta mixture until the cheese is melted and bubbling, about 25-30 minutes.

Step 9 –Serve.
