Brag-Worthy Baked Ravioli

You may not like to brag, but sometimes you have to sing your own praises. Few dishes are more worthy of being sung about than Brag-Worthy Baked Ravioli. Everyone will be singing along; this is a crowd-pleaser through-and-through! Cheesy, tender ravioli forms the heart and soul of the dish, but the meat sauce will have you coming back for more: beefy, savory, bright, and with just the right amount of sweetness. A bubbly blanket of creamy and sharp cheese keeps everything warm and heart-warming! Get ready to show off and impress with a big plate of Brag-Worthy Baked Ravioli!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 3 cups marinara, divided
  • 20 ounces cheese ravioli, uncooked
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated

Directions

Step 1 –Move an oven rack to the top third of the oven.

Step 2 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 3 –Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 4 –Add the oil and the onion to a skillet over medium-high heat and sauté until the onions are starting to brown and are tender, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 5 –Add in the ground beef and the garlic and cook, breaking up the beef as it sautés, until browned and cooked through, about 5-8 minutes.

Step 6 –Spoon out any excess fat.

Step 7 –Season the beef mixture with the salt and the pepper.

Step 8 –Add 2 cups of the marinara to the ground beef mixture, stirring to incorporate and heating it through.

Step 9 –Pour the remaining marinara into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly along the bottom.

Step 10 –Add 1/2 of the ravioli to the baking dish, aiming for a fairly even layer but allowing for a little overlap.

Step 11 –Add 1/2 of the beef sauce to the baking dish.

Step 12 –Add 1/2 of the mozzarella and 1/2 of the parmesan to the baking dish.

Step 13 –Repeat the layers.

Step 14 –Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Step 15 –Remove the foil and broil until the top cheese layer is bubbly and browned, about 3 minutes.

Step 16 –Serve immediately.
