Cherry Yum-Yum

Well, it has “yum” in the name! That’s a positive sign right there! Cherry Yum-Yum has a crunchy, buttery, pecan crust that deserves a few yums before it even gets its topping. But then, the topping comes along, and will definitely receive some more yums! A fluffy whipped cream cheese and bright, jammy cherry pie filling is a crowd-pleaser for sure! Ooooh it looks and tastes so amazing! Grab a plate, serve up this Cherry Yum-Yum, and hear the chorus of “yum-yums” from your table begin!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 (1.3-ounce) envelope whipped topping mix, plus the ingredients called for on the package
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Mix the butter, the flour, the granulated sugar, and the pecans until combined.

Step 3 –Press the crust mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 4 –Bake until the crust is set and golden-brown, about 20-30 minutes.

Step 5 –Allow the crust to cool.

Step 6 –Prepare the whipped topping according to the package directions.

Step 7 –In a large bowl using an electric hand mixer on medium speed, combine the softened cream cheese and the powdered sugar, until smooth.

Step 8 –Gently mix the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture, being careful not to deflate it.

Step 9 –Spread the whipped mixture over the cooled crust.

Step 10 –Top the whipped mixture layer with the cherry pie filling.

Step 11 –Refrigerate the yum-yum for at least 4 hours.

Step 12 –Serve.
