Country Ribs

You want a meal that really sticks to your ribs, and these Country Ribs take that idea literally! The short ribs are braised tender in actual barbeque sauce to ensure they are at their most tender and smoky, tangy, and sweet. Then they head to the grill so they can reach their full juicy potential and get ready for dinner in a gorgeous caramelized jacket. Country Ribs are incredibly simple to prepare but they add a new dimension to cookouts, barbeques, and summer dinners. These ribs won’t just stick to your own, they’ll stick around in your head long afterward!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds pork spare ribs
  • 2 (18-ounce) bottles barbeque sauce
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions

Step 1 –Place the spare ribs in a large stock pot with the barbeque sauce, onion, salt, and pepper.

Step 2 –Pour in enough water to cover the ribs.

Step 3 –Bring the mixture to a low boil and cook for about 40 minutes.

Step 4 –Preheat the grill to high heat.

Step 5 –Lightly oil the grill grates.

Step 6 –Transfer the spare ribs to the grill.

Step 7 –Grill the ribs, basting the ribs in the barbeque sauce from the stock pot and turning frequently, until the ribs are nicely browned and have reached 145 degrees F internally, about 20 minutes.

Step 8 –Serve hot.
