Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans baked beans with pork
  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 (7.5-ounce) package refrigerated biscuit dough

Directions

Step 1 –In a large, oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat, cook the bacon until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the fat from the skillet.

Step 2 –Cut the bacon into bite-size pieces and set aside.

Step 3 –Add the beef and the onion to the skillet, and cook until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the fat from the skillet.

Step 4 –Stir the bacon, the baked beans, and the barbecue sauce into the ground beef mixture.

Step 5 –Bring the mixture to a boil.

Step 6 –Reduce the heat to medium-low and place the biscuits in a single layer over the top of the mixture.

Step 7 –Cover and simmer until the biscuits are done, about 10 minutes.

Step 8 –Preheat the broiler.

Step 9 –Place the skillet under the broiler and broil until the biscuits are browned on top, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 10 –Plate the biscuits and spoon the beans over the biscuits.
