Easy Chocolate Cobbler

Ingredients

For the cobbler:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

For the topping:

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 1 cup water, boiling

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Grease a 1.5-quart casserole dish.

Step 3 –In a medium bowl, combine the flour, the baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of the salt, 2/3 cup of the sugar, and 1 1/2 tablespoons of the cocoa.

Step 4 –Stir the butter, the milk, and the vanilla into the flour mixture.

Step 5 –Spread the batter into the prepared dish.

Step 6 –In another bowl, combine the remaining sugar, the brown sugar, the remaining salt, and the remaining cocoa.

Step 7 –Sprinkle the sugar mixture on top of the batter; do not stir.

Step 8 –Pour the water over the topping; refrain from stirring.

Step 9 –Bake until the top of the cake is almost set on top and a pudding has formed on the bottom, about 25-30 minutes.
