Friday-Night-Lights Dip

Whether you’re on the small-town sidelines or in the bleaches of a big, metro stadium, there’s truly nothing like the thrill and excitement of the Friday night lights. Even when you can’t make it to the game, you can still experience that buzz from your living room… and of course, you need a snack like Friday-Night-Lights Dip to make it even more fun! When you’re not cheering and shouting, you’ll be dipping your chips into this cheesy, meaty bowl of yumminess. Ah, sports just make life more exhilarating – especially with snacks like Friday-Night-Lights Dip!

Ingredients

    For the dip:

    • 1 pound hot Italian sausage, casings removed
    • 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese
    • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
    • 1 (10-ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies

    Optional, for serving:

    • tomatoes, to taste, chopped
    • fresh parsley, to taste, chopped
    • chips, such as salt and black pepper kettle or tortilla, to taste

    Directions

    Step 1 –In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sausage and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 6 minutes. Drain the fat.

    Step 2 –Add the cream cheese, the cheddar, and the diced tomatoes with green chilies and their juices to the cooked sausage and cook until the cream cheese and cheddar have melted, about 5 minutes.

    Step 3 –Pour the dip into a serving bowl and top with the chopped tomatoes and the parsley.

    Step 4 –Serve the dip with the chips.
