You’ve been training. You’ve been practicing. And now, it’s your moment to shine. On game day, the snacks have to be elite and you’ve finally mastered the Holy Grail Mix… just in time. You knew you could bring this delicious blend of perfectly seasoned, crispy, crunchy snacks together. Sure, there were days you doubted how the savory seasonings would mix with the popcorn, peanut, pretzel, and bagel chip combo, but you had your eye on the prize and overcame adversity. Okay, okay. This is way too serious (haha). The Holy Grail Mix really is so simple to make, yet still falls into the MVP category for game-watching snacks. So, whip it up (no practice needed). You’re gonna do great, kid!


  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 tablespoons popcorn kernels
  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 2 cups pretzels, bite-sized
  • 1 cup plain bagel chips or pita chips, broken into small pieces
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder


Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.

Step 2 –In a 3-quart pot, add the oil and 3 of the popcorn kernels and cover with the lid.

Step 3 –Heat the pot over medium-high and cook the kernels until they begin to pop.

Step 4 –Add the remaining kernels to the pot and cook, while moving the pot around to keep the kernels moving, until the popcorn has formed.

Step 5 –In a very large mixing bowl, add the popcorn, the peanuts, the pretzels, and the bagel chips.

Step 6 –Wipe out the 3-quart pot.

Step 7 –In the cleaned pot over medium heat, melt the butter, stirring occasionally, until the bits at the bottom begin to turn golden and light brown.

Step 8 –Transfer the pot from the heat, then whisk the Worcestershire, the brown sugar, the Dijon, the mustard powder, the salt, the paprika, the cayenne, the garlic powder, and the onion powder into the browned butter.

Step 9 –Pour the seasoned butter over the popcorn mixture and toss until all the ingredients are thoroughly covered.

Step 10 –Spread the popcorn mixture on a very large baking sheet or two medium baking sheets.

Step 11 –Bake the popcorn mixture, tossing it every 15 minutes, until it is evenly cooked, about 45 minutes.

Step 12 –Let the popcorn mixture cool on the baking sheet.

Step 13 –Serve.
