Garden Limeade

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons culinary lavender
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 3 drops neon purple food coloring
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 6 limes, juiced
  • 2 cups ice, plus more, to taste, for serving
  • limes, to taste, sliced, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 –Place the lavender in a fine mesh strainer and place it over a pitcher.

Step 2 –Pour the boiling water over the lavender into the pitcher.

Step 3 –Add the food coloring into the lavender-water mixture.

Step 4 –In a saucepan over medium-high heat, add the sugar, the vanilla, and the cold water and mix to combine.

Step 5 –Bring the vanilla mixture to a boil and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved. Immediately transfer the saucepan from the heat.

Step 6 –In a 2-quart pitcher, add the lemon juice, the lime juice, and the sugar water and stir to combine.

Step 7 –Pour the lavender mixture into the citrus mixture and stir to combine.

Step 8 –Add 2 cups of the ice to the limeade.

Step 9 –Serve the limeade over the extra ice, garnished with the lime slices.
