This is actually a fairly straightforward recipe that rewards your patience with bold, vibrant, spicy BBQ flavors with that distinct tanginess that can only hail from the Peach State. Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons white pepper
  • 2 teaspoons ancho chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (4-5-pound) pork shoulder
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar

Directions

Step 1 –In a large plastic resealable bag, add the black pepper, the white pepper, the chili powder, the cumin, the paprika, the oregano, the brown sugar, the salt, and the garlic powder.

Step 2 –Add the pork to the bag; seal, and shake until the meat is coated in the rub.

Step 3 –Let the pork marinate in the fridge overnight.

Step 4 –Coat the slow cooker with nonstick spray.

Step 5 –Place the marinated pork in the prepared slow cooker with the white vinegar.

Step 6 –Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat until the meat is fork-tender, about 8 hours-10 hours.

Step 7 –Shred the meat with two forks and stir it into the sauce in the slow cooker.

Step 8 –Serve.
