Hamburger Casserole with Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 2 (16 ounce) packages frozen broccoli
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 (8 ounce) package fresh mushrooms
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
  • 1 (16 ounce) package mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Prepare the frozen broccoli according to package directions.

Step 3 –In a skillet over medium heat, mix the ground beef, mushrooms, and onion. Cook until the beef is evenly brown, about 6-8 minutes.

Step 4 –Drain the grease from the pan.

Step 5 –Season the meat and mushroom mixture with salt and pepper.

Step 6 –Add the cream of celery soup and sour cream.

Step 7 –Continue cooking until heated through, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 8 –Transfer the mixture to a medium baking dish.

Step 9 –Evenly layer the broccoli over the meat mixture.

Step 10 –Top the casserole with the mozzarella cheese.

Step 11 –Bake the casserole until bubbly and lightly brown, about 1 hour.

Step 12 –Serve.
