Homemade BBQ Chicken

Homemade BBQ Chicken shows you don’t need a fancy grill to make great barbeque; just an oven and a little time!

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 12 chicken thighs, skins removed

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F.

Step 2 –In a small saucepan over medium heat, stir together the water, the ketchup, the brown sugar, the vinegar, the lemon juice, and the Worcestershire sauce.

Step 3 –Season the sauce with the salt, the mustard powder, and the chili powder.

Step 4 –Simmer the sauce for 15 minutes.

Step 5 –Place the chicken thighs into an oblong baking dish and pour the sauce over them.

Step 6 –Cover the dish tightly with foil.

Step 7 –Bake the chicken, covered, for 15 minutes.

Step 8 –Reduce the temperature to 300 degrees F and bake the chicken for 1 hour.

Step 9 –Remove the cover, stir the chicken, and bake, uncovered, until the chicken is golden-brown and cooked through at 165 degrees F internally, about 15 minutes.

Step 10 –Serve.
