Jenny’s Oven-Fried Steak

Some people were born with a silver spatula in their hand, just knowing how to cook… and doing it really well too! With Jenny’s Oven-Fried Steak, she really outdid herself, and we’re absolutely thrilled about it! Jen coated some cube steaks with seasoned breadcrumbs and then baked them to perfect tenderness — take it from us, they are phenomenal! Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt, divided
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 3 cube steaks
  • nonstick cooking spray, to taste
  • gravy, to taste, store-bought or homemade, cooked and warm

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line an 18×26-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3 –In a shallow bowl, add the flour, 1/2 teaspoon of the salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of the black pepper and whisk to combine.

Step 4 –In a second shallow bowl, add the eggs and the milk and whisk to combine.

Step 5 –In a third shallow bowl, add the breadcrumbs, the remaining salt, and the remaining black pepper and whisk to combine.

Step 6 –Fully dip the steaks into the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and then the breadcrumb mixture; place the coated steaks on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.

Step 7 –Evenly spray both sides of the coated steaks with the nonstick cooking spray.

Step 8 –Bake the coated steaks until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees F and the breading is crispy, about 30 minutes.

Step 9 –Serve the steaks topped with the gravy.
