Loaded-Up Spaghetti

This pasta gives you the works! Loaded-Up Spaghetti features a bed of those lovely spaghetti noodles with layers of creamy, tangy cheese sauce, all topped with a rich, homemade meat sauce for that remarkable savory sensation! Then it’s all baked and covered in melty cheddar cheese! Will the wonders never cease? Well, no, not with this Loaded-Up Spaghetti on the table!

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) package spaghetti
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 (16-ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 cup butter, sliced
  • 1 (8-ounce) container cottage cheese
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 (8-ounce) package sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –In a large pot of salted, boiling water, cook the spaghetti to al dente, according to the package directions, and drain.

Step 3 –In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook, while crumbling, until the beef is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and discard the excess grease.

Step 4 –In a large bowl, add the cooked ground beef and the spaghetti sauce and stir to combine.

Step 5 –Evenly add 1/2 of the butter slices to the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 6 –Add 1/2 of the cooked spaghetti on top of the butter layer in the baking dish.

Step 7 –In a large bowl with an electric hand mixer, add the cottage cheese, the cream cheese, and the sour cream and mix well to combine.

Step 8 –Add the cottage cheese mixture to the top of the spaghetti layer.

Step 9 –Add the remaining cooked spaghetti on top of the cottage cheese mixture layer.

Step 10 –Evenly add the remaining butter slices to the top of the spaghetti layer.

Step 11 –Add the ground beef mixture to the top of the butter layer.

Step 12 –Bake the casserole for 30 minutes.

Step 13 –Transfer the spaghetti bake from the oven to a wire rack and add the cheddar cheese to the top of the spaghetti bake.

Step 14 –Transfer the bake back to the oven and bake until the cheddar cheese has melted and is lightly browned, about 15 minutes.

Step 15 –Serve.
