Ramen Carbonara

Great taste doesn’t come any easier than this! Ramen Carbonara is the expedient way to have a flavorful family-friendly meal. You can never go wrong with ramen noodles immersed in a creamy, parmesan cheese sauce, complete with crumbles of savory bacon… it’s truly the perfect combination! Surprise yourself with the upscale taste of low-cost, high-flavor Ramen Carbonara. It’s delizioso!

Ingredients

  • 3 (3-ounce) packages ramen noodles, discard the seasoning packets or reserve for another use
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 8 slices bacon, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, plus more, to taste, for garnish
  • 4 tablespoons basil, chopped, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 –In a pot of salted, boiling water, cook the ramen noodles, according to the package directions. Drain the water.

Step 2 –Add the oil to the cooked noodles and toss to combine.

Step 3 –In a medium bowl, add the eggs and the parmesan and whisk to combine.

Step 4 –In a large skillet over medium heat, add the bacon pieces and cook until they are browned and crisp.

Step 5 –Reserve 1 tablespoon of the bacon drippings and discard the remainder.

Step 6 –Add the garlic to the bacon pieces and sauté until it is aromatic, about 30 seconds.

Step 7 –Add the cooked noodles to the bacon-garlic mixture and toss to combine.

Step 8 –Season the ramen mixture with the salt and 1/4 teaspoon of the black pepper and stir to combine.

Step 9 –Transfer the skillet from the heat. Top the ramen mixture with the egg-parmesan mixture and toss well to combine. The heat will cook the eggs.

Step 10 –Garnish the carbonara with the basil and the extra black pepper and serve.
