Ingredients
- 1 1/2 teaspoons coarse salt
- 1 1/2 grapefruit wedges, divided
- ice, to taste
- 3 slices jalapeño peppers, optional
- 1 1/2 ounces vodka or gin, chilled
- 1/2 cup grapefruit juice
- 2 teaspoons honey simple syrup, optional
Directions
Step 1 –Spread the salt onto a small plate.
Step 2 –Run 1 of the grapefruit wedges around the rim of a tall glass and then roll the glass rim in the salt to thoroughly coat it.
Step 3 –Fill the glass with the ice.
Step 4 –Place the jalapeño slices into a cocktail shaker and muddle them briefly.
Step 5 –Add the vodka, the grapefruit juice, and the honey simple syrup to the cocktail shaker.
Step 6 –Add enough of the ice to the cocktail shaker until it is 3/4 full.
Step 7 –Cover the cocktail shaker and shake until the liquid is chilled and combined.
Step 8 –Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass.
Step 9 –Garnish the glass with the remaining grapefruit wedge.
Step 10 –Serve.
