The Everything Casserole

When you’ve gone through your whole list of recipes and all of them sound good, but you can’t decide what sounds the best, then you must make The Everything Casserole! As the title suggests, it’s got a little bit of everything mixed in to give you a taste of each of the flavors you’re craving. Within, you’ll find tender veggies and juicy beef soaked in a tangy, savory sauce that’s all topped with some melty cheese. It’s sure to hit the spot! This delightfully hearty dish is cooked in your slow cooker making it an easy one to whip up… which is always a win. All your desires get contented with The Everything Casserole! It’s just the best choice!

Ingredients

  • 1 white onion, sliced
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups carrots, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons A1 Original Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup white rice
  • 1 (10-ounce) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • fresh herbs, of your choice, to taste, chopped, for garnish

Directions

Step 1 –Grease the bowl of a slow cooker.

Step 2 –In a large bowl, mix the onions, the potatoes, the carrots, and the celery together.

Step 3 –Add the garlic and the olive oil to the veggie mixture and toss until it is well-coated.

Step 4 –Pour the veggie mixture into the prepared slow cooker.

Step 5 –In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook, while crumbling, until it is almost browned. Season with the seasoning salt, the onion powder, and the A1 Original Sauce as it cooks.

Step 6 –Pour the almost-browned beef mixture over the veggie mixture and top with the butter slices.

Step 7 –Evenly pour the rice over the casserole mixture.

Step 8 –In a bowl, mix the tomato soup and the water together. Pour it over the casserole mixture.

Step 9 –Cover the slow cooker and cook, about 4 hours on high heat or about 6-7 hours on low heat.

Step 10 –Uncover the slow cooker and top the casserole with the shredded cheese.

Step 11 –Turn off the heat and replace the lid until the cheese on the casserole has melted.

Step 12 –Serve the casserole garnished with the herbs.
