Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 (12-ounce) package maple breakfast sausage links
- 3 tablespoons olive oil

- maple syrup, optional, to taste, for serving
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 –In a small bowl, whisk the eggs, the milk, and the salt together.
Step 3 –Whisk the flour into the egg mixture until blended.
Step 4 –Let the batter stand for 30 minutes.
Step 5 –While the batter stands, cook the sausage links according to the package directions.

Step 8 –Place the skillet in the oven until hot, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 9 –Stir the batter and pour it into the prepared, hot skillet.
Step 10 –Top the batter with the sausage pieces.
Step 11 –Bake the skillet until golden-brown and puffed, for about 20-25 minutes.
Step 12 –Remove the Toad in a Hole from the skillet, cut it into wedges, and serve topped with the butter and the maple syrup.
