Truffle Buttered Steak

Oh, yes. The good stuff. No, scratch that… this is the great stuff! Each Truffle Buttered Steak is beautifully cooked, rosy on the inside, savory, and succulent. New York strip served with truffle butter. Mmmm, rich, creamy, deeply aromatic truffle butter, the perfect complement to enhance that beefy flavor. This is a five-star dish that doesn’t require a master chef… just a big appetite!

Ingredients

For the truffle butter:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons truffle oil
  • 1/8 truffle, thinly shaved
  • sea salt, to taste

For the steaks:

  • 4 (6-ounce) New York strip steaks
  • sea salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

Step 1 –In a bowl, add the butter, the truffle oil, the shaved truffle, and the sea salt and mix to combine.

Step 2 –Cover the bowl and refrigerate the truffle butter for at least 1 hour.

Step 3 –Place a baking pan in the oven.

Step 4 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 5 –Season the steaks with the sea salt and the black pepper.

Step 6 –In a heavy skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil until shimmering.

Step 7 –Add the steaks to the hot oil, working in batches as necessary, and sear until browned all over, about 3 minutes per side.

Step 8 –Transfer the steaks to the hot baking pan in the oven.

Step 9 –Return the baking pan to the oven and roast until the steaks are firm and rosy on the inside and the meat reaches an internal temperature of 130 degrees F, about 8-10 minutes.

Step 10 –Transfer the steaks from the oven and allow them to rest for 5 minutes.

Step 11 –Serve the steaks with the truffle butter.
