10-Minute Pasta

When you’re in a rush, it can feel like the walls are closing in and there’s just never enough time to get everything done. But wait. Take a moment. Breathe. You need to take care of yourself too, otherwise all your efforts will be in vain. 10-Minute Pasta asks for only a moment of your precious time, and what it delivers is more than just dinner; it delivers a respite. The pasta is tender, the broccoli is refreshing and tender-crisp, and a ranch seasoning coating brings tang and buttery richness in a hurry. But you don’t need to hurry anymore with 10-Minute Pasta. Now, it’s time for that break you’ve been promising yourself.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta, of your choice
  • 1/2 pound frozen broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons ranch seasoning
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions

Step 1 –Bring a large pot of water to a boil for the pasta.

Step 2 –Cook the pasta to al dente according to the package directions.

Step 3 –When the pasta is just tender, add the broccoli and let sit for 1 minute.

Step 4 –Reserve 1/4 cup of the starch pasta water.

Step 5 –Drain the pasta and the broccoli in a colander.

Step 6 –Return the pasta and the broccoli to the pot off the heat.

Step 7 –Add the butter and the ranch seasoning, stirring until the butter is melted and everything is coated in the seasoning. If the pasta looks dry, add the reserved pasta water a little at a time.

Step 8 –Season with the salt and the pepper and serve.
