  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

Step 3 –In a large bowl, mix together the apples, lemon juice, vanilla, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, flour, and raisins, stirring to evenly coat the apple slices.

Step 4 –Set the puff pastry onto the parchment-lined baking sheet, unfolding it if necessary and using a rolling pin to roll it out slightly and make it even.

Step 5 –Spread the apple mixture evenly down the center of the pastry, lengthwise.

Step 6 –Fold the sides of the puff pastry up and over the apple mixture.

Step 7 –Seal the dough together by slightly dampening the pastry and pressing the dough together.

Step 8 –Mix together the egg and milk with a whisk.

Step 9 –Lightly brush the top of the pastry with the egg wash and sprinkle with the coarse sugar.

Step 10 –Bake until the crust is golden-brown, about 35–40 minutes.
