Ingredients

  • 15 servings sugar cookie dough, pre-made or store-bought
  • 15 rock candies, various colors, crushed

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a cookie tray with parchment paper.

Step 3 –Roll out the cookie dough so it is 1/2-inch-thick.

Step 4 –Use large cookie cutters to cut the dough into shapes, such as stars, circles, or Christmas trees. If you have excess dough, you can re-roll it out and cut it to make sure none of it goes to waste.

Step 5 –Use smaller cookie cutters of the same shapes to cut out the center of the shaped cookies. You may discard this piece or bake it as an extra treat.

Step 6 –Place the large, hollow cookie on the prepared cookie tray.

Step 7 –Add some of the crushed rock candy to the center of each cookie, using a toothpick to spread it out evenly throughout the center and only filling each cookie about halfway to prevent overflows.
