Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup whole coffee beans
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water
  • ice, to taste
  • milk, optional, of your choice, to taste
  • sweetener, optional, of your choice, to taste

Directions

Step 1 –Grind the coffee beans in a grinder until coarse.

Step 2 –Place the coarse coffee grounds in the center of a 6×6-inch cheesecloth.

Step 3 –Tie the cheesecloth off with kitchen twine.

Step 4 –Place the cheesecloth in a Mason jar or similar 2-cup glass container.

Step 5 –Add the cold water.

Step 6 –Tightly seal the container.

Step 7 –Refrigerate and allow the coffee to steep for at least 12 hours, with the best results coming from steeping for 18-24 hours.

Step 8 –Remove the cheesecloth, squeezing as much liquid as possible back into the glass container.

Step 9 –Serve the coffee over ice with the milk and the sweetener.
