Copycat White Castle® Hamburgers

No one likes a copycat, unless it’s when you’re trying to recreate your favorite burger at home! Copycat White Castle® Hamburgers are just about as close as you can get to the real things! They’re just as juicy, just as savory, and even feature that iconic square shape that makes them so much fun to eat! Bonus points go to these Copycat White Castle Hamburgers for making plenty for a crowd… which honestly might make them even better than the real deals! As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery; and dare we say this is the most delicious?

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck hamburger meat
  • 1/3 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 (1-ounce) package dry onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 24 small square dinner rolls

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3 –In a medium bowl, combine the ground chuck, the breadcrumbs, the egg, the onion soup mix, the water, and the black pepper.

Step 4 –Place the meat mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and roll it out evenly.

Step 5 –Make 3×3–inch indentations in the meat mixture to make the patties.

Step 6 –Punch five holes into each of the patties so that they are ventilated.

Step 7 –Bake the patties in the oven until they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F and have browned, about 10 minutes.

Step 8 –Transfer the baking sheet from the oven and drain the excess grease from the patties.

Step 9 –Use a knife to cut along the indentations to make the patties.

Step 10 –Place one of the patties inside each of the rolls.

Step 11 –Serve.
