Ingredients

  • oil, to taste, for frying
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced

Directions

Step 1 –In a deep-fat fryer, heat 1 inch of the oil to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 –In a shallow bowl, whisk the flour, the water, the egg, the seasoned salt, and the baking powder together.

Step 3 –Dip the onion slices into the batter.

Step 4 –In batches, fry the onion rings until they are golden-brown, about 1 minute-1 minute 30 seconds per side.

Step 5 –Drain the onion rings on paper towels.

Step 6 –Serve.
