Not only are they loaded with that slightly salty, perfectly tender beef stuffed in a fluffy roll, but they’re extremely easy to make. All you have to do is dump all that goodness (minus the bread, of course) in a slow cooker and let it get to work. Ahh, they really are the best, and most Delicious French Dip Sandwiches ever!

Ingredients

  • 1 (3-4-pound) beef chuck or rump roast
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/4 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can French onion soup
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 (12-ounce) can light beer, such as Coors Light®
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 French rolls, split, can substitute 2-3 baguettes, cut into 6-inch rolls and split
  • 8 tablespoons butter

Directions

Step 1 -Season the beef with the salt and the pepper.

Step 2 -In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the beef and brown it on all sides.

Step 3 -Transfer the browned beef to a slow cooker.

Step 4 -Add the beef broth, the French onion soup, the onions, the beer, the garlic, the rosemary, and the Worcestershire sauce to the slow cooker.

Step 5 -Cover the slow cooker and cook the beef mixture until the meat is tender, about 4 hours on high heat or about 8 hours on low heat.

Step 6 -Preheat the oven to the broil setting.

Step 7 -Transfer the cooked beef to a cutting board and let it rest, about 15 minutes.

Step 8 -Using two forks, shred the beef.

Step 9 -Coat the inside of each of the rolls evenly with the butter and place on a baking sheet.

Step 10 -Broil the rolls until they are lightly toasted.

Step 11 -Evenly top the toasted rolls with the shredded beef.

Step 12 -Serve the sandwiches with the extra cooking juices for dipping.
