Everyday Turkey Breast

Whether you’re making a zhuzhed-up version of your favorite turkey sandwich or you’re craving the salty, savory flavors this protein brings to dinnertime, just whip out your slow cooker, because this Everyday Turkey Breast is the one for the job. Get ready to have a perfectly normal, non-special day and hey, enjoy it!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 (2.5-pound) turkey breast, boneless and skin-on
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 stalks celery, halved
  • 2 carrots, quartered
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced into 1/2-inch-wide wedges

Directions

Step 1 –In a small bowl, add the melted butter, the poultry seasoning, the salt, the onion powder, the black pepper, and the paprika and stir to combine.

Step 2 –Evenly spread the spice mixture over the turkey breast.

Step 3 –In the bottom of a slow cooker, add the chicken broth.

Step 4 –Add the celery, the carrots, and the onion to the broth and top with the turkey breast, skin-side up.

Step 5 –Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook the turkey breast on low heat until its internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F, about 2 hours 45 minutes-3 hours 15 minutes.

Step 6 –Preheat the oven to broil.

Step 7 –Line a baking sheet with foil.

Step 8 –Carefully transfer the turkey breast to the prepared baking sheet and broil until browned, about 3-5 minutes.

Step 9 –Slice and serve the turkey.
