Ingredients
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- 1 (10.75-ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- paprika, optional, to taste, for topping
- fresh herbs, such as curly leaf parsley, optional, to taste, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 –In a large saucepan over medium heat, heat the milk until bubbles form around the sides.
Step 2 –Transfer the saucepan from the heat.
Step 3 –Add the cheddar cheese soup, the cream cheese, the garlic, the nutmeg, and the pepper to the milk and stir until smooth.
Step 4 –Place the potatoes and the onions in a 3-quart slow cooker.
Step 5 –Pour the milk mixture over the potato mixture and mix well.
Step 6 –Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat until the potatoes are tender, about 6-7 hours.
Step 7 –Serve the potatoes sprinkled with the paprika and garnished with the fresh herbs.
