Cheesy Tortellini Bake is home-cooking in a nutshell. It’s literally everything you could hope for in a home-cooked meal all at once in a single skillet (which does also cut down on cleaning time): cheesy tortellini, covered with even more melty, bubbly cheese, coated in a savory and hearty meat sauce. What more could anyone need from dinner? No one can leave the table unhappy after eating Cheesy Tortellini Bake. It’s just not possible!
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3-4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 24 ounces pasta sauce
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 22 ounces refrigerated cheese tortellini
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 –Heat the olive oil in a 12–14-inch oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 3 –Add the ground beef and sauté, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks, until no pink remains, about 6-8 minutes.
Step 4 –Add the garlic to the beef mixture and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 5 –Stir the pasta sauce, the water, the basil, the parsley, the oregano, the thyme, the chili flakes, the salt, and the pepper into the beef mixture.
Step 6 –Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Step 7 –Stir the tortellini into the beef mixture and mix until everything is well-combined.
Step 8 –Top the beef mixture with the mozzarella and the parmesan.
Step 9 –Cover the skillet with foil and bake until the tortellini is cooked through, about 20 minutes.
Step 10 –Optionally, uncover and broil for a few minutes to brown the cheese on top.
Step 11 –Serve.
